Position Description

 

Reporting to the Vice Present – Service and the Managing Director, the successful incumbent will be required to manage the Business Area in accordance with the Global Service and local Service strategy and policies.  He or she will also be required to achieve the turnover and profitability targets for the Business Area Service and to provide an excellent level of service support to all Business Areas, which enhances the reputation of the company.

 

This position is a key role in the Company.  The position is responsible for the effectiveness of the Service Business Area.  Standards and work practices set by this position will be reflected in the service team. The Business Manager – Service is responsible for identifying opportunities for increased business and ensuring the management team are aware of these opportunities.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Developing the local Business Plan and Strategy in line with the European Strategy.

 

Formulate and implement those actions necessary to achieve the targets set out in the annual budget within the limits of the policy for the Service Business Area.

 

Actively selling the Business Areas strategy and its products to the internal staff and customers.

 

Ensuring the correct implementation of the Business Area strategy and give direction to the service personnel.

 

Ensuring personnel are achieving their targets through recruiting, training, motivating and supporting their activities.

 

Develop good working relationships with the principle service contact within the company Group.

 

Targeting the primary and large accounts and take personal responsibility to create opportunities within those accounts to increase service business or prevent successful attach from competitors.

 

Developing the marketing communications plan with the manager and within the budget.

 

Recommend to the Divisional Manager new market opportunities or threats.

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

Minimum of 10 years service experience with the last 5 years in management.

 

Experience in Medical or Life Science Equipment service.

 

Experience in managing a service team of at least 30 individuals.

 

Language Abilities:

 

Bilingual in both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese.
