The Company

 

Our client makes NYSE listed carbon compounds and treated-wood products for the chemical, railroad, aluminum, utility, construction and steel industries around the world.  Their Carbon Materials and Chemicals unit makes materials for producing aluminum, polyester resins, plasticizers and wood preservatives.  The railroad and utility products unit supplies treated crossties and utility poles and treats wood for vineyard, construction, and other uses.

 

Position Description

 

The role requires a strong background in business knowledge and all aspects of financial stewardship and governance.  This role is responsible for managing the overall finance structure of our clients business, identifying and developing best practices for delivering financial information and advisory services and aligning the integration of processes with other functional teams.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Local policy setup and management.

 

Internal control (including SOX) governance.

 

Setup local policy for new company, ensure adequate terms and evaluations process are undertaken to minimize risk exposure and comply with guidelines.

 

To ensure compliance with all statutory and company policy relating to commercial activities to ensure the Company financial is not compromised.

 

To hire, develop and effectively manage their team members.

 

To build up finance team for new company and ensure all the employees are informally and formally performance managed to.

 

To ensure all employees have development plans in place, which will allow them to meet their realistic career aspirations and that they can undertake their role to the highest level of performance.

 

All financial and commercial analysis.

 

Ensure thorough analysis of all drivers in the business, to allow business leaders to manage margins and costs effectively and for fact based decisions to be made.

 

Ensure the production of timely and accurate reporting to allow fact based decision making.

 

Develop and deploy a budget and forecast process to ensure accuracy, which allows for fact based decisions to be made.

 

Working capital management.

 

Ensure working capital is managed to ensure proper funding is maintained.

 

Ensure funding for the business is maintained on an efficient and cost effective manner.

 

Ensure all capital processes are in place and followed consistent with company policies.

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

Strong general accounting and financial experiences and successfully managed an accounting function in a medium/large company.

 

Good knowledge in local and USGAAP and taxation.

 

General knowledge of corporation law.

 

Strong understanding of accounting systems (relevant hardware) and financial modeling.

 

Personal Qualifications:

 

Proven leadership and communication skills.

 

Strong planning, organization and execution skills.

 

Good time management and ability to meet the deadlines.

 

Good inter-personal skill.

 

Language Abilities:

 

Fluent in both spoken and written English & Mandarin Chinese.
