The Company


Our client is the world’s number one foie gras producer.  They have been in China for many years and have seen demand for their product increase exponentially; with their main customers being 5 stars hotels, high standard restaurants and luxury boutiques.  As such, they have decided to open a new production site in China to meet the high demand for their foie gras.  The site is to be based in Lianyungang, whilst the China HQ is based in Beijing.


Position Description


Reporting to MD China based in Beijing, the Industrial Director will be based in Lianyungang and manage our clients new production site.


Summary of Key Responsibilities:


Management of all industrial activities such as killing/cutting fattened ducks & meat packing and transformation of foie gras on all functions (planning, maintenance, purchases, sanitary rules, etc.)


According to our client’s guidelines, define the industrial policy of the Chinese factory and provide them with the adapted production tools and organization to meet client’s requirements.


Provide adequate sales support.


Optimize quality and productivity, link with their French industrial division.


Manage capital expenditure.


Manage purchases (from equipment to packaging etc.)


Manage external relations with local authorities (certificates, sanitary control, environment rules)


Candidate Profile


Work Experience & Abilities Required:


10 years minimum experience in food products manufacturing.


Has an experience in industrial team management, able to delegate.


Should deliver immediate results in supervising plant end of construction, operational start and then production.


Able to manage and control Chinese teams.


Should already have expatriate experience in China.


A high level of autonomy and can work without the constant help of management.


High level of reactivity, organization.


Should propose, convince, recommend and implement ideas.


Able to produce clear, timely and accurate reports.


Able to listen and communicate properly with their teams, pears and management.




University degree.


Language Abilities:


Fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
