Our client is a $2 billion, privately-held company, headquartered in the U.S.A.  They are a highly respected global developer and provider of high-quality and reliable fluid system solutions including products, assemblies and services for the research, instrumentation, process, oil and gas, power, petrochemical, alternative fuels, and semiconductor industries.  Their manufacturing, research, technical support and distribution facilities support a global network of more than 200 authorized sales and service centers offering support in more than 70 countries.

 

Position Description

 

Located in Shanghai and Reporting to the General Manager – China, the successful incumbent needs to have a strong technical background and will be responsible for planning and managing all sales activities in China.  He/She will need superior knowledge of organization, business and sales strategies.  They will need to define the sales plan, sales strategy and staffing model, as well as manage and coach Regional Sales Directors and Sales Managers.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Defines all sales plan, sales strategy and staff mode according to the company business strategy and corporate objective

 

Create annual sales quota and budget

 

Accountable for reaching sales targets in China

 

Works closely with sales management on monitoring all major projects and provide support when it is needed

 

Customer calls with team members to meet with key customer’s senior executives to understand customer’s needs and market trends

 

Develop and maintain executive level relations with customers

 

Manage and participate in the development and scheduling of special events & projects such as trade shows, public relations events, contests, promotions, etc.

 

Conduct sales meetings to communicate & emphasize company strategy / culture to each sales person

 

Monitor and control overall sales expenses and A/R collection for the region

 

Motivate and coach sales team including Regional Directors and Sales Managers to help individual personal development

 

Communicate closely with related departments and personnel at HQ for support

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

Minimum 10 years experience in a sales or engineering related field with 5 years in a multinational company, 8+ years sales management experience

 

Technical knowledge in related products

 

Knowledge in related industries e.g. petro-chemical, semiconductor, oil & gas, power plants etc.

 

People management and leadership skills

 

Strategic thinker

 

Customer focused

 

Result oriented

 

Education:

 

BS degree in engineering, plus appropriate training / education

 

Language Abilities:

 

Fluent in spoken and written English
