The Company

 

Our client is a global company (European) focused on significant PV project development around the world together with specialized silicon material manufacturing of solar-based technology.

 

Position Description

 

Preferably with a base in CA, and reporting directly to the CEO based in Europe, the Regional Head – America’s will act as a Company representative and head of the Company’s presence in the America’s region; taking ultimately responsibility for business development, project planning & execution, and managing day-to-day operations of the Company in the region.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Business Development

 

Develop and implement company’s regional presence strategy in accordance with Company’s corporate goals

 

Establish and manage business relations with the regional key parties (project sponsors, investors, local governments and authorities, finance institutions); build and develop relationships with senior level decision makers; build regional partnerships

 

Develop and maintain necessary personal networks for the successful development of the business

 

Lead EPC contract negotiation in coordination with the group level leadership

 

Project planning and execution

 

Manage and oversee multiple projects execution from planning to customer acceptance; supervise all aspects of plant construction and contract monitoring, hand-over and operation and maintenance monitoring for portfolio of solar power plants

 

Managing relations and day-to-day communications with third parties including legal advisors, service providers, technical consultants, construction subcontractors, surveyors, landowners, grid operators, electric utilities, communities, etc.

 

Carry out commercial, legal and technical due diligences of projects in the region either directly or with internal/external support

 

Evaluate, plan and develop potential sites for large-scale PV projects either directly or with Head Office support

 

Work with local authorities to obtain planning permits, other necessary licenses, clearance permits etc.

 

Finances and budgets

 

Jointly with the Group Executive Board/CFO prepare regional budget in line with the Group financial targets

 

Responsible for sound fiscal management of the regional unit’s operations, meeting the budget and profit figures; direct ownership over the regional P&L

 

Responsible for execution of each project within the budget, maximizing the profitability figures and controlling overruns

 

Regular reporting on regional unit performance to the Head office

 

Team development

 

As the need arises, help hire, train, and manage a regional field office from the ground up, building structure over time

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

10+ years of experience in business development and operations management

 

Strong track-record in in renewable energy market (solar preferable) in the region

 

Proven successful experience working remotely as an independent representative, building local presence from zero

 

A strong desire to be a part of a rapidly growing business with an opportunity to progress

 

Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communications skills; team player attitude

 

Excellent management skills, ability to prioritize and get-things-done attitude

 

Comfort working in an extremely fast-paced setting, with proven ability to take initiative in an environment that at times can be ambiguous

 

Excellent managerial, organizational and prioritization skills, confidence, maturity and highly developed written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills

 

Strong computer skills, including strength in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

 

Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with attention to detail
