They have more than 115 years of packaging technology experience with a profound understanding of specific market requirements.


Position Description


The successful incumbent will report to the SBU Manager, Asia and will be responsible for supervising existing operations including joint ventures and licences.  They will be expected to increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling and disciplining managers whilst communicating values, strategies and objectives.  They will assign accountability, plan, monitor and appraise job results while developing incentives and a climate for offering information and opinions to provide educational opportunities.


Summary of Key Responsibilities:


Successfully develop the packaging business, as well as their Shanghai trading operations


Build and develop the organization towards a high performing team


Be responsible for achieving the financial results of the company; accomplish subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets and results measurements; allocating resources, reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections


Establish business plans with CAPEX requirements and pay back calculations


Promote market awareness for the companies products in China, manage all sales activities, achieve sales objectives and development of market position


Establish strong local ties with global key accounts


Gather all information relevant to the company’s market and competitors in order to identify market development opportunities and market penetration strategies


Identify market opportunities in order to set up factories for the companies product portfolio (Steel, Fiber, PE drums, Jerricans, IBCs and related after market services)


Monitor risks of doing business in the region (esp. regarding political and commercial issues)


Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations and employees whilst maintaining ethical business practices


Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company’s plant


Support the SBU management in building up a network of alliances and new joint venture partners in China



Setting up, maintaining and supervising and/or arranging for the supervision and maintenance of the information technology, communication, financial, accountings, human resources (hiring and training), payroll, administration and other relevant systems, functions, practices and/or procedures of the company


Enforce the parent company’s standards and follow-up customer’s requirements regarding quality, date of delivery and logistics as well as open up new markets and product uses


Establish relationships with local banks & handling/supporting the financing of future projects


Candidate Profile


Work Experience & Abilities Required:


Proven success record and extensive experience in Sales, Marketing and/or General     Management gained from China or Asia Pacific with P&L accountability


Experience in managing relations with (Chinese) authorities; procurement expertise is a plus

Developing policies and procedures




Management or Business Degree


Language Abilities:


English and Chinese proficiency
