Our client is a world leading international manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of stainless and specialty alloys, tool steels, and titanium alloys for niche applications in the automotive, aerospace, consumer products, energy, defence, industrial and medical markets.

 

As a world leader, our client continues to expand their established, stable and successful business in China with the recent announcement that they will be investing a further $20M into a new manufacturing facility to meet the rapid growth and increasing demand for their products by their customers in Asia.

 

Position Description

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for the accounting functions including the development and maintenance of planning and budgeting systems, analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management’s attention, the preparation of financial and management reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to SAO management.

 

Responsible for conducting and documenting financial analysis projects.

 

Prepares financial and business related analyses in such areas as revenue, cost performance, rate of return, depreciation, and working capital.

 

Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas.

 

Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.

 

May provide input into the development of business policies, assists with special financial and business related studies.

 

Responsible for month end closing responsibilities.

 

Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

Five or more years of Finance or Accounting experience.

 

Applies business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within or across areas or departments.

 

Has multi-disciplinary knowledge across the areas or departments.

 

Develops area/departmental plans including business, production and/or organizational priorities.

 

Manages resources to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.

 

Knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and China GAAP), practices and procedures.

 

Advanced understanding of cost accounting theory, taxation, cash management and accounting for foreign currencies.

 

Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and managing external auditors.

 

Knowledge of financial software (Microsoft Office / SAP / Hyperion Financial Management).

 

Personal Qualifications:

 

Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems.

 

Develops relationships with key customers to identify emerging needs.

 

Decisions are guided by resource availability and department/function objectives.

Education:

 

Four year college degree in accounting or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management.
