Our client is a NYSE listed, recognized world-leading vertically integrated manufacturer of its own-brand Solar PV products; from the production of ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of PV modules and development and financing of its own solar farm projects around the world.

 

The company is enjoying both a financially good period and a well-recognized market leading position globally; therefore it wishes to capitalize on this through a serious of strategic acquisitions.  Hence the need for this key position.

 

Position Description

 

Our client is seeking an experienced commercial leader with proven track records in driving profitable business growth in a multi-country environment; an engaging leader who can manage and lead a high performing team in a highly complex and competitive environment.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

 

Main objectives and Responsibility

 

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will have full P&L responsibility and for providing overall strategic direction for the business and leadership to the America’s commercial team.

 

Develop and implement growth and competitive strategies to capture market share and achieve profitable growth targets.

 

Set up and develop business and key customer relationships in new markets in the region.

 

Further build channel and segment strategy, implement structure and initiatives to maximize growth opportunities in each of the key channels and segments that they are targeting.

 

Develop and manage key customers in the region with main focus on establishing and maintain long term customer relationships.

 

Managing a cross-functional regional team (sales, marketing, Finance, HR) to provide the best products, services and solutions to customers and position the Company as preferred strategic partners for our customers.

 

Work and communicate effectively with Global HQs and other functions to implement key programs and processes to drive overall organizational effectiveness and build the best regional commercial team in the industry.  Foster an inclusive, positive and high performing organizational culture.

 

Specific tasks

 

Prepare and implement sales strategy for the region.

 

Decide in coordination with the CEO, SVP Modules and SVP Projects, which resources are provided locally, regionally or centrally and staff resources accordingly (field marketing, technical support, value added services).

 

Establish solid processes for sales, field marketing and post-sales/technical support, services.

 

Ensure that the regional organization reaches/exceeds its sales and marketing targets.

 

Develop new customers in line with the channel and marketing strategy.

 

Monitoring competitor prices, activities and strategies, derive the appropriate strategies and tactics to win against the key competitors by differentiating factors other than price.

 

Manage and monitoring monthly and quarterly performance.

 

Ensure timely and accurate input for the budgeting and reporting processes.

 

Candidate Profile

 

Work Experience & Abilities Required:

 

At least 2-3 years experience in Solar Energy required.

 

Proven track record of at least 5-10 years as a successful senior sales leadership role in an international and dynamic business environment.

 

Ability to design and implement highly effective organizations and processes.

 

Understanding of local and international markets and cultures.

Education:

 

B.S. in science or Electrical Engineering a must, Masters degree or MBA degree preferred.

 

Language Abilities:

 

Excellent skills in English; Spanish and/or Chinese would be an asset, but not essential.
