Job Description
The VP, Materials – China will be responsible for enabling our clients industrial manufacturing footprint in China to offer a competitive advantage to customers and working closely with the executive, will own the implementation and fine tuning of an innovative materials strategy in order to provide the best total solution for our client and their customer.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of strategic supply chain management, including, strategic sourcing, contracts management, specific commodity and inventory management
  • Lead and direct sourcing teams in identifying, communicating and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practices
  • Plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost effective, procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials
  • Take ownership of the overall maintenance of successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels
  • Interface with the Global Commodity management and strategic supply chain management teams at an executive level on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk analysis and capacity management.
  • Coordinate with Finance on the materials budget
  • Guide in the selection, development and evaluation of personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function and be responsible for deploying a HR strategy in terms of performance management and talent acquisition at an executive level
  • Will regulary interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations
  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce
Work Experience and Abilities Required
  • At least 10 years' of relevant experience leading quality management systems and processes, preferably working in EMS industry.
  • A six-sigma black belt holder with solid experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • As a functional head, the successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Education
Successfully completed a university degree in a related field. MBA Preffered.
Language Ability
Fluency in English and Mandarin
