Our client is the premier health system provider and one of the most renowned
academic medical centers in the United States. During the past decade, they have
reshaped the health care landscape, especially in mid-west America. As an $8
billion organization and the region’s largest employer, it has transformed the
economic landscape as well. During a period of rapid growth, our client has created
a genuinely integrated health care delivery system and aggressively recruited
superb physicians and researchers to develop internationally renowned centers
in transplantation, cancer, neurosurgery, psychiatry, rehabilitation, geriatrics,
and women’s health, among others. They also have invested significantly in information
technology to link and integrate electronic medical records across multiple hospitals
and care settings and have invested research monies to seed new fields like regenerative
medicine and bio-security. Furthermore, they have exported its expertise internationally.
Today, with 45,000 employees, our client comprises 20 hospitals and a network
of other care sites across the USA and throughout the world: doctors’ offices,
cancer centers, outpatient treatment centers, specialized imaging and surgery
facilities, in-home care, rehabilitation sites, behavioral health care, and nursing
homes.
Our client also has leveraged its world-renowned clinical services and patient
care reputation into one of the country’s fastest growing health insurance plans,
offering an array of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid products. A pioneer in
the management of chronic diseases like congestive heart failure, asthma, and
diabetes, their Health Plan has been recognized as one of the best insurance plans
in the nation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, which in 2005 ranked
it among the top five for effectiveness of care.
